About Us

Delaware Veterinary Group has been providing farm veterinary services in Somerset for over 100 years, we offer excellence in all areas of farm animal health, welfare and food safety. The purpose-built premises opened in Castle Cary on a green field site in July 1999 providing new facilities for in-patients and in house surgical procedures.

Our large animal unit base at Castle Cary aims to provide our clients with the highest level of service and expertise with our emphasis on team work. We strive to support farmers with sustainable production that improves animal welfare, by utilising new technologies, efficiencies and solutions in preventative healthcare. Keeping up to date with the latest research in the farming industry helps to ensure the service and advice we offer is on cutting edge of latest developments.

Given the concentration of dairy cattle in Somerset we have a strong dairy focus within the practice and firmly believe a proactive approach to fertility management and disease prevention is essential for a healthy, efficient and profitable herd. That said, we also maintain interest in other farm species within our catchment area for both commercial farmers and smallholders.

Our dedicated farm team provide a core delivery of local veterinary services and as part of the wider IVC Evidensia network we have additional support from experts in their field. The IVC Farm Vets team is committed to high quality partnerships with farmers, delivering peace of mind, as well as value in a fast paced changing world.
